IMAG urged accountability, metrics, and capacity-building in a final rule on advance electronic data (AED) in international mail. IMAG submitted comments to Customs and Border Protection on its interim final rule on AED, which sets the implementation regulations outlined in the Synthetics Trafficking and Overdose Prevention (STOP) Act. IMAG also proposed that CBP amend the text to authorize USPS to refuse shipments prior to loading the inbound international mail shipment onto the transporting conveyance, if the AED has not been supplied as required no later than loading.
