Frankfurt airport will be closed to passengers with planned departures on Thursday, March 7, due to a security staff strike organized by Germany's Verdi union, the airport's operator said in a statement on Wednesday, as Reuters reported. Ground handlers at Lufthansa plan to walk out from March 7-9 at airports across Germany, likely causing flight delays and impacting mail handling at the airports.
