CBP Reports No Issues with CrowdStrike Outage
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials reported no major issues at ports and no impact on its Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system due to the CrowdStrike outage on Friday.
CBP issued a A Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) notice early in the day on Friday to say ACE was not impacted and then followed up later in the day with a short briefing with trade industry representatives. Trade users might have had issues accessing ACE on their Windows devices but they can use non-Windows systems no problem, officials said. Anyone having issues can contact ACE help desk: ACE.SUPPORT@cbp.dhs.gov or (866) 530-4172.
Officials last week reported no issues at ports of entry, although one industry rep had noted on Friday that at some bridges, cars were backed up for miles and blocking trucks from getting to Customs inspection booths. Once trucks arrived at the inspection booth, however, they were processed timely. Anyone with issues or questions can email TradeEvents@cbp.dhs.gov.
