Israel Post Faces Backlog on Returns

Israel Post informed other designated operators via a Universal Postal Union circular that owing to new Israeli customs regulations regarding the return of imports, the Post has been unable to return undeliverable postal items to the country of origin since the beginning of 2023. Thousands of items waiting to be returned are being held at Israel Post’s sorting center. "After intense talks with the Israeli customs authority, Israel Post received approval to return items to the country of origin. It will gradually dispatch all undeliverable items, starting on 1 September 2023," the Post said in the circular.
