Royal Mail Workers Set to Strike
The union that represents British postal workers are set to strike on four days in August and September in protest over pay, marking the latest announcement of industrial action in the country as workers demand wage increases to deal with inflation. The Communication Workers Union, representing staff at postal group Royal Mail (RMG.L), said more than 115,000 postal workers will go on strike on Aug. 26 and 31 as well as Sept. 8 and 9, Reuters and other news outlets have reported.
Royal Mail, one of the world's oldest postal groups, apologized to customers for any disruption caused by the proposed strikes. The company said it had offered a 5.5% pay rise for CWU-grade workers, its biggest increase in years.
