A "Postal Brexit"?
Industry experts fear that a U.S. withdrawal from the Universal Postal Union would be a "postal Brexit," with the potential for dramatic price increases for inbound international packages. That's the focus of a story by CEP Research, which highlights some of the comments from the Leaders in Logistics Post & Parcel Europe conference, held in Madrid in late March. IMAG Executive Director Kate Muth was one of the speakers, and said there could be a kind of rate shock if the USPS were to introduce much higher prices for final-mile delivery of imported parcels and other posts then imposed on higher rates for U.S. export parcels.
