Royal Mail Strike Update

The next round of one-day postal strikes in the United Kingdom will affect postal deliveries from 4:00 AM Friday, September 30, to 4:00 AM on Sunday, October 2, The Communication Workers Union also just announced calls for further 19 days of strikes in October and November, in protest of Royal Mail Group management's decision "to withdraw from major national agreements, push ahead with vicious cuts to workers terms and conditions and completely sideline the union," Reuters reported.

Mail shared in a circular posted this week with the Universal Postal Union its contingency plans in place, including that all mail for the U.K. should continue to be sent as normal. And while all air mail hubs and international processing centers will remain open and fully operational, delivery operations will be impacted on days when the strike is taking place.
