New Zealand Post informed UPU member countries in a circular earlier this week that torrential rain across the Auckland region in late January caused widespread flooding and the severe weather conditions affected the delivery and collection of all mail items. "A state of local emergency has been declared for the Auckland region for seven days, ending on Saturday, 4 February 2023. More heavy rain is forecast for the Auckland and Northland regions and other parts of the North Island of New Zealand throughout the week commencing Monday, 30 January 2023."
