The designated operator of the Dominican Republic, Instituto Postal Dominicano, asks us to inform the designated operators of other UPU member countries that, owing to Hurricane Irma, a major Category 5 storm which hit the country in the early hours of 7 September 2017 with wind speeds of 290 km/h, all postal services have been suspended.
The Instituto Postal Dominicano thanks all designated operators for their understanding. It will inform them via EmIS as soon as the situation returns to normal.
