New Swedish Value Added Tax Affects Ecommerce

The Swedish government recently announced the introduction of a 25-percent value added tax (VAT) on all ecommerce items imported from outside the European Union by consumers into Sweden. The U.S. Postal Service's Postal Bulletin reports the following: Effective March 31, 2018, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) in multiple places to remove references to the USPS® meter label solution application, which the Postal Service is shutting down. On March 31, 2018, the Postal Service will permanently shut down the USPS meter label solution application (formerly called Click-N-Ship for Business®). IPC Report Highlights E-consumers Preferences and Experiences

The International Postal Corporation (IPC) delivered insights on global shoppers in its 2017 IPC Cross-Border E-Commerce Shopper Survey, based on a survey of 28,000 consumers in 31 countries in Europe, North and South America, and the Asia-Pacific region. Among the report’s findings were the following delivery preferences and experiences of cross-border e-consumers. Consumers say the need to have clear information about delivery charges prior to making a purchase is their most important requirement when making a cross-border online purchase.
